We went there for their anniversary where they offered their .50 cents sliders! Wow, great food & ambience. Service was great despite the long line. Will be back to try their awesome barbecue!

OMG - best BBQ in the town!! When I judge BBQ, I taste the meats with no sauce to evaluate the quality of the base cook, moisture and flavor. Then I taste with sauces. This place is 1000% worth the 50 years in business!! GO!! GO!! GO!! Yes, each meat is awesome, and the turkey is moist - not dry like 90% of other chains (or inexperienced places who not it pit masters). These guys have mastered BBQ -Texas style!!!! The 'fatty brisket' is highly trimmed and has no gristle or 2 inch fat belt like other places. Big Al's is moist - no visible fat and succulent!!! DO NOT GET LEAN BRISKET!!! The fatty brisket is not what you get at other places!!!! This is what you want to ask for - and try to get some of the chard bark too!!! (I did - awesome!!) FYI- go there in off hours. Lunch can have no parking within 2 blocks and lines out the door. (No kidding.) But it's absolutely worth the wait!!! I've revamped my top 3 BBQ places in Big D... and they are now #1. Congratulations!!!! And well deserved!!!

Sliced Beef Sandwich This was pretty solid! Meat was pretty tender but not lifechanging. The sides were really good, really liked the creamed corn and Mashed Potatoes. Good stuff!

First time visit and it was a treat! I loved the ribs best of all. They make a good homemade potato salad. The smoke turkey was thick slices and so moist paired with their mustard bbq sauce! Omg perfection! I was never a mustard bbq sauce fan Big Al's won me over! I didn't get a picture of their Texas sheet cake! Very good! They were so nice behind the counter were nice and warm helping us make choices. It's a great bbq restaurant you get lots of napkins and just enjoy!

When I was in Dallas this passed fall I got a Super Stuffed potato from Big Al's Smokehouse. I loved it so much that I had to get it again, while in Dallas. Loved every bite! I have a busy schedule so I wasn't able to stop and dine inside so I can't speak about the service or the ambiance of the restaurant. However, I did take a picture before I stuffed my face so I hope that makes up for it. Please, give this place a try if you like brisket. Mine was falling a part. I could've cut it with a spoon!

I'm surprised that Big Al's only has a 3.7 on yelp. The brisket was very flavorful. I liked the leaner vs. fattier pieces, but I'm sure you can customize if you ask. The chopped brisket was both flavorful and moist without being too fatty. The Mac and cheese was solid. The cheddar jalapeno sausage was just ok.
